The author was saved in July/1977 and introduced to systematic, Scripture-centered Bible study a year later. After studying the works of a multitude of writers for the next several years, the author began teaching home Bible studies in 1981 and has continued to the present. The author is an engineer by trade. All members of the Body of Christ know that today's gospel centers around the "preaching of the cross" (1Cor. 1:18). However, knowing WHEN God revealed it to mankind is a powerful remedy for the confusion that has gripped the Church. Imagine coming across passages that warn against blaspheming the Holy Spirit (Mt. 12:31), that admonish to forgive in order to be forgiven (Mt. 6:14,15) or that place the Jews as "FIRST to] be filled" (Mark 7:27) and being able to simply and in a straightforward manner reconcile such truths with today's gospel without resorting to religious doubletalk. Understanding the WHEN component of the good news of the cross makes the Bible significantly easier to understand and removes the "complexity" so long associated with the Scriptures. We want simple explanations and straightforward answers. I'm reminded of the brother who finally demanded "Do I or don't I have to forgive my brother's sins to be forgiven - which is it?" While this book is nowhere exhaustive, it will assure the believer that God's word is understandable and clearly within his comprehension no matter what his education may be.
