Doug Carothers taught high school students with disabilities in Florida and California before earning a doctorate at Florida Atlantic University. He has taught at Radford University in Virginia and the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, and currently serves as Program Coordinator for Special Education at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers.
