The Author: Johnnie Glad, born in 1929 in Norway, studied at the University of Oslo, Det teologiske Menighetsfakultet, Oslo, Columbia University, New York, Union Theological Seminary, New York, and Boston University - School of Theology. As a member of the clergy roster of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, he served parishes in New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Massachusetts. After returning to Norway in 1968 the author taught religion at Levanger Teachers' College and what is now the University of Stavanger. He is Associate Professor Emeritus. He holds a master's degree in Religious Education and a doctor's degree in Theology.
