When I sat down and started writing my first book, Opening Doors, I honestly didn't have a clue about what I was doing, but what I did know was how important it was to get my message out to as many people as possible and inspire them to be the best versions of themselves they could possibly be. No matter what situation you find yourself in or the background in which you came from there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to keep searching and never give up.
In all of the adversity I have found myself in over the years, there were numerous times I felt like giving up and throwing the towel in, but always, in the back of my mind, was what I had to offer and how others can benefit from my experiences as well as learn from what I had put in place to help me overcome the many trials and tribulations I found myself in.
I didn't know how to put a book together, but I had my memories. I just had to work out how to put them down on paper so others would not just want to read my book but also want to talk about how it had changed their life. That was the reason for writing the book in the beginning. I soon realized, after writing the first few pages, that it could help others. If I could influence one person to change their life after reading my book, I had done a whole lot more than become an author, isn't it right? Whatever we get out of this life, we should put back to help others.
