The topic of this paper addresses the United Nations' services toward Palestinian refugees. It seeks to explain the functions of the UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) in Palestine toward refugees in different sectors with special concern toward education, where it is regarded as a very important sector in society and the first priority for the UNRWA. This paper is based on a functionalist approach rather than analytical studies of a larger sample. It provides a description of the successful achievements of the UNRWA in making basic education free, available to all and compulsory for more than half a million children of Palestinian refugees in Gaza and the West Bank.
