The full participation and partnership of both women and men is required in productive and reproductive life, including shared responsibilities for the care and nurturing of children and maintaining the household.The past three decades have witnessed a steadily increasing awareness of the need to empower women through measures to increase social, economic and political equity, and broader access to fundamental human rights, improvements in nutrition, basic health and education. Despite worldwide evidence of the low levels of female participation in social, educational, economic and political spheres, there is still a tendency to see it as a real problem only in a limited number of countries. The reality is that no country in the world no matter how advanced has achieved true gender equality, as measured by comparable decision making power, equal opportunity for education and advancement and equal participation and status in all walks of human endeavor. The purpose with this book is to find out the impacts of womens empowerment on family life.
