Their dour Psych-Navigator, Dr. Death, has them rescue the grand inquisitor of the Sixth Legion, the enforcement arm of the Order of Psych-Navigators. The inquisitor arrests their Captain, the Oracle and James for interfering with the plans of the Order. James Flint is thrown into the power struggle between those who want to negotiate for the Garsh's knowledge and the few that know the Garsh represents an ancient evil whose ultimate aim is the enslavement of mankind.
