This study attempts to resolve issues surrounding chronology and relations with the surrounding Balkan regions in the early and middle Neolithic of Macedonia. Its main approach is a correlation between pottery from Macedonian Neolithic sites and those from neighbouring areas. The analysis locates the origins and diffusion of the Neolithic in Macedonia through four great phases of migration, and developments in pottery attributes are linked to these movements.
