Calcination today is considered as an essential element of education at all levels. It is not surprising that calcination has emerged as a major section in the field of Unani pharmacy (Ilmul Saidla). Kushta is the dosage form concerned with rejuvenation, longitivity, virility, vitality. It is the science of cosmos and souls, the process of spiritual realization and hence traditional psychology, medicine, metallurgy, chemistry and also art. The need of serious treatment of this subject is now felt more widely. So far no attempt has been made to study this dosage form in a scientific manner. This is because of lack of communication among traditional healers, scientists and unavailability of the literature in English. The preparation procedures of kushtas have always been a practical problem. The present book has been designed keeping in view the fact that students require greater depth of knowledge to tackle complex nature of calcination technology and with the self-effacing aim in the direction of establishment of standard manufacturing procedures necessary for preparation of various kushtajat. All efforts have been made to make to make this book as informative as possible.
