The author additionally reconnects these electoral developments to the changing nature of devolution and shows how the deepening of devolution accelerates the negative electoral consequences for the British system of government. Tim Niendorf is a lecturer and research assistant at the Chair of Political Theory and History of Political Ideas at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (Germany). Prior he was employed in the same position at the Chair of Comparative Politics at the Friedrich-Schiller-University. His teaching and research focuses on political parties in Germany and the UK, the comparative study of democratic institutions, as well as British and American politics.
