By 1662 he was located in Groton, Massachusetts, with his first wife, Elizabeth. Major Samuel Lawrence is the great-great grandson of John Lawrence and was born in Groton in 1754. His descendants are carried down for three generations making a total of eight generations described through detailed biographical notices of prominent family members. The genealogy ends at the beginning of the twentieth century.
