The Demons of Chaos begins in the year 1897, with the story of Edgar, a child who is cruelly sacrificed in a magical blood ritual by the black magician Sir Percy Throckmorton. The ritual is performed in order to allow, Lucinia, the Dark Queen, to return to the Common Ground (our world) which, she believes, rightfully belongs to her. The ritual fails ...but ... Over a hundred years later, in 2011, the Common Ground is once again threatened by the Throckmorton family through the machinations of Sir Nicholas Throckmorton, Sir Percy's great-grandson. This time a young teenage girl called Jessica, is to be the blood sacrifice in the ritual to allow the Dark Queen's return. However, there is a twist to the plot. Lucinia does not want Jessica to die because she needs her skills as an Oriseer (a type of clairvoyant) to locate the key to the Black Abyss. With the key to the Black Abyss, Lucinia can release the Demons of Chaos, and use them in her quest to conquer the world.
