Through an experimental research project that started with 10 participants, Gary acquires the ability to do what he believes is trans-dimensional travel. He finds himself in various situations; each one requiring him to perform different versions of a sick and twisted game called 'The Bull-run'. One minute he's in an obstacle course arena fending off an angry bear intent on having him for lunch, and the next he's in a primordial jungle being relentlessly pursued by a Tyrannosaurus Rex who has a thirst for human blood. In the heavily walled Cities of the future, Gary finds that much of the human population has been wiped out by years of catastrophic events; some of which he had witnessed while on his travels. Though men outnumber women nearly 10 to 1, the women are the ones in control. Outside of the protected cities, the people have learned to fend for themselves by any means necessary. Gary learns that things aren't always what they seem when looking from the outside/in, and he finds the strength to do what's right by rescuing his people and exposing the corruption from within. As Gary continually 'jumps' from one reality to the next, he struggles to figure out how he can stop the jumping before he either loses his mind, or blinks out of existence. The one thing keeping him strong through his trials and tribulations is the woman he may or may not have met, but has definitely fallen in love with. In his many attempts at reaching his goals, he will discover more about himself than he ever could have imagined, as well as the impact the Bull-run has had on those discoveries.
