A FEW WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR A few weeks ago yesterday, I was standing in line at Luby's at noon. Rather than being bored I had my iPhone in my hand fiddling with it and created The Angora Chronicles on Facebook before I passed the salads. A week later I had told perhaps half the stories I know. I realize that perhaps telling the stories of my life are much like my life has been, "Fast and Furious." Dang... maybe I should not have used that term since it has taken on the meaning of something screwed up, out of control, just plain crazy. On second thought I guess it does apply... I got very excited about The Angora Chronicles on Facebook. I had been penning stories for almost twenty years with the intent of having something to leave my Grandkids. The group gave me the opportunity to do that very thing and share other peoples stories at the same time. Maybe everyone has adventures similar to mine but they forget them. I just have the ability to remember them. Which may be a blessing or a curse. A curse because things are constantly rolling around in my head. Instead of focusing on what needs to get done. I told my wife a true story the other night that she had no memory of, even though she was there. (I'm not saying she is getting old and forgetful, but....... Ok, I'll stop with that...) We had traveled from Marble Falls to San Antonio for our 1970 senior trip. (Whoopee, that was a dandy trip after putting in 12 hard years) Late in the afternoon we ended up at an amusement park/arcade. Several of us decided to go to a fortune teller. When it was my turn she read my palm and said, "One day you will write a book." I don't remember what it cost for the fortune teller, but we all laughed until we cried at how wrong she was. You see, I would never have graduated high school if not for the help of several of my girl classmates who helped me through every miserable hour of English Class. I left the 12th grade with no clue the about what the difference was between and verb and a noun. I only knew that adverbs ended in LY sometimes, or all the time. Is that right? I've been told I never know when to shut up. I start talking and before I know what's happened, everyone around me knows more about me than I do... ANYWAY... Welcome to The Angora Chronicles.. The Musings of an Old Goat...
