This is a book of Sermonettes. Articles written for church bulletins are actually short sermons. They contain an introduction, body or situation that is being addressed, a Biblical/scriptural equivalent and a wrap-up or point tying the illustration and scripture together in a meaningful way. Similar articles often begin with a joke or comedic opening leading to a serious discussion and pointed statement for the audience. And almost without exception, they preach to the writer. Over the years I have written a number of articles for a Sunday bulletin, for different congregations. Being ADHD Bipolar Manic Depressive has enabled me to see a side of life that Christians often ignore or play down. These are the A-Ha moments, or the epiphanies that shake our worlds with truths often in conflict with our religious dogma but never in conflict with God's Word. I find that too often I am looking through those so called "rose colored glasses." It is the world as we want to see it, just not the way things really are. It is where seeing things our way, or not at all becomes a wedge driving us apart when we should be working and loving together. The "60 Second War" is being at odds with a narrow view of our own religious correctness bordering on mania instead of seeing God's love for his children. Jesus said that the Father did not want to lose anyone to sin, but wanted everyone to see "truth" his way; just not as we usually want it to be. The stories and poems in this book are about reality and the Bible, God's word and are intended to get you to think and grow in spirit and in truth.
