Methodological rigor, together with a lean style and layout were chosen; boxes and teaching objectives are included to help memorize fundamentals. Starting from basics such as the physiology and pathology of skin and wound healing, suture techniques, dressings and dermal substitutes, grafts, flaps and microsurgical techniques, the textbook then tackles topics including malformations, skin cancer, and traumas like burns and wounds.
