Test case prioritization techniques schedule test cases for execution in an order that attempts to maximize some objective function. The objective of this work is to study and analyze the existing techniques for regression testing, to propose a new prioritization technique and implement the same, and validation of results with existing technique.The proposed new technique is based on bee colony optimization to reveal maximum number of faults in the program being tested with the minimum possible execution time so that the testing process can be made more efficient. It has also been compared with the no order technique by comparing the values obtained for APFD. The comparison shows that the proposed technique gives better results.
