Nirdosh Rana is presently working as Director of Theem College of Engineering, Boisar, Mumbai. Prior to his present association he held several responsibilities in educational institutes and government research institutes. He possess vast experience of more than 35 years at various levels. Dr Rana completed his Masters and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
Dr Rana has published and presented more than 65 papers in conferences and journals, book chapters and conference proceedings at International/National level and visited several countries for Keynote and Invited talk presentation. He has completed 12 sponsored consultancy projects at different places for various requirements. He was invited to deliver technical lectures during several Short Term Training Programs organized by Govt. College of engineering and other institutes. He has received “best research paper awards” at international and national conferences and also is a recipient of best academician award. He has guided several scholars for the PhD degree, Master’s theses and many Under Graduate project work. Dr Rana has been reviewing research articles for various International journals and conferences on regular basis. He is member on several committees of Mumbai University and many other Universities. Dr Rana is a Fellow of IETE, Life Member Indian Ergonomics Society, Life Member Biomedical Society of India, Member IEEE U.S.A., Member ISA U.S.A., Senior Member IACSIT and serving these bodies through various responsibilities.
Shah Aqueel Ahmed is a Professor and Principal at Theem College of Engineering, Boisar, (Dist. Palghar) which is affiliated to University of Mumbai. He holds a PhD Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. His area of interest is Biomedical, Signal Processing, Instrumentation and Ergonomics. He has more than 30 years’ experience in academics.
Dr. Shah Aqueel Ahmed has published and presented more than 50 papers in conferences and journals at National and International level. He has guided several scholars for the PhD Degree as well as 25 scholars for the post-graduation and more than 50 for undergraduate projects. He has organized several National and international conferences.
Rauf Iqbal has publications of over 120 as journal articles, edited books, book chapters and conference proceedings. He has been regularly presenting and chairing sessions at International conferences over the last 15 years. He has guided several scholars for the PhD degree as well as master’s theses. He has reviewed articles for various International journals and also has examined PhD thesis from national and international universities. He is member of various international and national committees like, - BRICS Plus Executive Committee for Human Factors and Ergonomics, Council member of Asian Council on Ergonomics and Design, Ergonomics sectional committee for Bureau of Indian Standards, Executive committee member of Indian Society of Ergonomics etc. He has carried out various projects funded by the Government as well as International Labour Organization. He has been conducting training and consultancy for numerous industries in the areas of ergonomics, work study, work systems design and Safety management.
Dr. Vivek Khanzode is an Associate Professor at National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai. His research interests include lean manufacturing implementation in small industries, worksystem design in manufacturing and supply chain challenges of social enterprises, and he has helped various organizations including several small-scale units to improve productivity using industrial engineering tools and techniques. He has authored 16 research articles and presented 23 papers in international and national conferences.
This volume presents selected papers presented during the 18th International Conference on Humanizing Work and Work Environment (HWWE 2020). The book presents research findings on different areas of ergonomics for developing appropriate tools and work environment considering capabilities and limitations of working people for maximum effectiveness on their performance. The book is divided into several sections focusing on different ergonomic research activities currently being undertaken at both national and international levels. The volume will be of use to researchers, practitioners and students working in different fields of ergonomics.
