Associate Professor Tarek Ganat joined the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in January 2017 as lecturer in the Petroleum Engineering department. Dr Ganat has a BSc, MSc, and PhD all in petroleum engineering and has more than twenty-five years of experience in various aspects with expertise of production and reservoir engineering through the participation of integrated studies with different oil and gas companies such as Repsol Exploration Company, Petro-Canada Oil Company, and PETRONAS Grigali Oil company. His professional experience was developed in the oil and gas industry, and largely focused around subsurface evaluation for green fields and brown fields. He has a wide range of overseas experience, gained in fractured carbonate and clastic reservoir characterization, and full field development, and considerable experience in the application of petroleum industry related packages in multinational and multicultural JV’s. He has authored many prepares in journals and conferences, and acts as a reviewer for the Journal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology.
This book presents detailed explanations of how to formulate field development plans for oil and gas discovery. The data and case studies provided here, obtained from the authors’ field experience in the oil and gas industry around the globe, offer a real-world context for the theories and procedures discussed. The book covers all aspects of field development plan processes, from reserve estimations to economic analyses. It shows readers in both the oil and gas industry and in academia how to prepare field development plans in a straightforward way, and with substantially less uncertainty.
