TANGLED WARPATHS is an alternative history of World War Two. When France fell to the German blitzkrieg invasion in 1940, Britain had to quickly retreat back across the English Channel. A mass exodus of British and French forces from the beaches of Dunkirk took place at the end of May and the beginning of June 1940. Seizing the initiative, Hitler decided to invade mainland Britain and German forces successfully occupied Southern England. The book traces the lives and experiences of a variety of people caught up in what ensued. Inevitably, there was distress and social suffering; but also courage, endurance and determination. All of the characters have varying degrees of personal experiences, some calamitous, others less so. What precisely eventually happens to them - and to the fate of Europe - is recounted here.
