As soon as children begin to interact with others, we can begin to teach them not to be bullies and not to be bullied. We can give them words for their feelings, limit and change their behaviour, and teach them better ways to express their feelings and wishes. Children do not learn to solve these kinds of problems and get along by themselves. We need to teach them harm prevention skills. Bullying is an increasing problem in our schools, neighbourhoods, families and communities. Kidzucate together with your help aspires to create a world where such abuses, are recognised and understood by children, using our educational programs and children's workbooks. Azelene Williams an International Author, Motivational Speaker, CEO and Co-Founder of Kidzucate was inspired by her daughters Sian Williams to develop this children's workbook. Kidzucate is an ATO Harm Prevention Charity organisation founded by Sian Williams at 6 years of age. Sian, also known as "The Kidzucate Kid," felt inspired to start Kidzucate when she suffered bullying at school as a result of her stutter. Sian refused to become another statistic of bullying and found a fun, kid-friendly solution to her problem. Kidzucate kicked off with Sian using YouTube to present her educational videos, teaching kids how to be better kids. Sian's vision was to not just talk about bullying, but to mentor children her age, as she believes that kids learn better through kids. When Sian is inspired, she speaks out through her YouTube videos, and gives tips and advice on things that have happened in her and her friend's lives. Sian's initiative has had a huge impact on other children. They could relate to the issues raised by Sian and responded positively towards her work and mission. Sian has also inspired adults, receiving more and more acknowledgement and support from diverse media outlets and being recognised for awards both nationally and internationally. Sian was awarded the 2014 Pride of Australia Young Leader Medal for W.A. She is also currently the youngest delegate in the world to receive the Human Rights Hero Award at the 2014 Youth for Human Rights Summit in Brussels, Belgium - a truly outstanding achievement for a child her age. Azelene has proven successful in developing strong, trusted relationships with individuals from diverse age groups, organisational levels, cultural heritages and socio-economic backgrounds by combining exceptional communication, interpersonal and mediation skills with industry-leading therapeutic methodologies through her educational background. When you combine the determination of a young stutterer who refuses to let bullies get her down, with a mother's fight for justice the result is a winning pair with a drive to help make the world a better place. The Take-A-Stand Harm Prevention Healthy Behaviour Development Program and Children's Workbook was inspired by the original Take-A-Stand Prevention of Bullying and Interpersonal Violence Program by Sherryll Kraizer, Ph.D and re-developed and re-written by Azelene Williams with permission by Sherryll Kraiser. This workbook is full of educational information and lots of space for children to express their own feelings and ideas.
