The burning of fossil fuels has been an activity carried out to provide electricity to the population; however, the consequences of this activity have affected Mexico's seas. Currently, we are seeking to replace this type of harmful activity with others that can provide energy without affecting the ecosystem. One way to achieve this is through the establishment of an OTEC (Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion) plant. This requires a biological, environmental, economic, social and ecological study of the sites of interest. This work shows a comparative and illustrative analysis of the geographic and environmental characteristics of the sites of Bahia de Banderas, Puerto Angel, and Petacalco.
