The Essence of Islam from the Holy Qur'an This booklet is not an academic work of a theologian, nor does it address theologians. It is directed towards people who have faith in God, but feel that they have not had sufficient opportunity to reach a true and solid understanding of God's teachings. My booklet refers only to Scriptures from the Holy Qur'an, rather than my interpretation of those Scriptures. I have taken "Ayahs" (verses) from different "Surah"(chapters) of the Qur'an and organized them under specific titles to offer a quick view to God's true Islam. Almost all of the English translations of the "Ayahs" contained in this booklet are quoted directly, without alteration, from Muhammad Asad's work "The Message of The Qur'an." For the better understanding of some subjects in the book, I added some "EXPLANATIONS" after consulting Professor Dr. Salih Tug, ex dean of the Theology Faculty of Marmara University in Istanbul, and Professor Dr. Hamid Algar from the University of California/Berkeley.
