In medicinal chemistry the chemist attempts to design and synthesize a medicine or a pharmaceutical agent which will benefit humanity. In the last century, the classical drugs were primarily discovered. Heterocyclic compounds represent an important class of biological active molecules. Specifically those containing quinoxaline derivatives have evoked considerable attention in recent years. They possess wide range of biological activities. Quinoxaline, also called a benzo-pyrazine, a ring complex made up of a benzene ring and a pyrazine ring. Numerous methods are available for the syntheses of quinoxaline derivatives which Extensive researches have generated numerous synthetic methods were carried. Although great success has been obtained, many of these processes suffer from some considerable drawbacks. Hence, the search for the better method, especially which will helps to green chemistry foundation is still being actively pursued. This manuscript describes the synthesis of biologically active substituted Schiff s bases of quinoxalines by Conventional method as well as by using Microwave synthesis. This synthesis is strictly followed by principles of green chemistry.
