ABSTRACT. A synopsis of the genus Naucleopsis (Moraceae) is presented in this work. The genus is the largest in number of species of the tribe Castilleae and ranges from Honduras to the State of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. Our work was based in the analysis of taxonomic literature, herbarium specimens and fieldwork. This work resulted in 31 species: N. acreana, N. caloneura, N. capirensis, N. chiguila, N. concinna, N. francisci, N. glabra, N. guianensis, N. herrerensis, N. humilis, N. imitans, N. inaequalis, N. insculptula, N. jamariensis, N. krukovii, N. macrophylla, N. meridionalis, N. naga, N. oblongifolia, N. pauciflora, N. pseudonaga, N. riparia, N. stipularis, N. straminea, N. tubulata, N. ternstroemiiflora, N. ulei, N. velutina, one new combination and two species were reestablished (in bold). This paper presents akey to the species, descriptions, synonyms, illustrations diagnostic characters, as well as comments on the geographic distribution and ecology of each species are presented.
