This book explores the potentiality of enjoyment of the feminine (Feminine Jouissance) in the form of sweet little deaths of everyday life- instances of losing ones mind in the intensity of pure excess in being- and the significance of these ruptures, irregularities, breaks in signification, in their potency to create something radically Other. The feminine as a mode of being based on a different logic of expression is irreducible to a specific gender or sex regardless of anatomical or gender differences. Feminine invokes a different logic that bespeaks movement and presents an openly fluid subjectivity by capturing the simultaneity of both centering and perpetual de-centering and divergence from itself. This work has two scopes; the theoretical and the clinical elaboration of Feminine Jouissances current uses in Lacanian and post-Lacanian thought. The theoretical section examines the relationship of the feminine to radical Otherness embodied in any form of border-crossing, border-linking (such as in immigration and being in love). In the clinical, a single clinical case is presented, to exemplify the impossibility of such integration and domestication of the feminine.
