The following presentation is written for readers in German-speaking areas where theology and religious studies have different forms of organization than in Sweden. But today's Swedish theology in Uppsala and Lund is partly dependent on the German one, sometimes as a copy, but also partly as a counter-draft to it, as can be seen from Anders Jeffner's work on Criteria of Christian Faith Teaching in German Protestant Theology of 1976 (Jeffner, Kriterier), which objectifies German theologians with their theologies. Precisely because of this dependence, this Swedish development is also interesting for Swedish young theologians and religious scholars. Germany is also interesting for young Swedish scholars of religious studies because of the dynamics in today's German religious studies, which is in the process of liberating itself not from theology, but from a special theological way of thinking.
