Budgetary deficits and huge demand for infrastructure to meet the needs of public as well as to boost the economy and growth have propelled the government to procure infrastructure projects through Public private partnership (PPP) mode. The increasing magnitude of demand-supply gap has eventually led the government to speed up the process to build the infrastructure and governments have looked at PPPs as the most preferred way to bridge the gap. However, the limitations and increasing resistance of the society to the PPP mode of infrastructure development have brought into limelight the need to look on the aspects of economic performance, social, environmental issues along with the institutional issues, which broadly embodies the 4 dimensions of PPP sustainability. The current study formulates a set of sustainability indicators, which can be used to measure the sustainability performance of PPP projects.
