Successive advances in the field of oral implantology over the last ten years have meant that implant therapy has become a standard procedure, particularly in single-tooth edentulous cases. Despite the structural, biological and mechanical differences between an implant and a natural tooth, the supra-implant prosthesis is likely to play the role of a natural tooth, whatever the aesthetic or functional situation. Managing the occlusion of single-tooth supra-implant prostheses is an essential key to their success, as is their durability in the arch, in order to avoid the various complications that can lead to total failure. It is therefore essential to understand the occlusal specificities and inter- and intra-arch relationships of natural teeth, in order to reproduce and respect them for supra-implant prostheses. Today's design and planning software makes it much easier to manage occlusion.
