The book writing "Superconductors: A brief history, theory, applications and a case study" originates during the project work of B.Sc. / M.Sc. Applied Physics students of the Department of Nanoscience and Advanced Materials, Saurashtra University, Rajkot (Gujarat), India. During the literature survey, students find many difficulties with history, basics, and application in detailed form in a single file. This thought motivates the author to write this book. This book has been designed for the beginner student of science and contains a brief history, fundamental theory, application, and a case study of superconductors. The aim is to represent the above-mentioned aspects of superconductivity in a simple manner with point-wise writeup and figures. In the first chapter of the book, the detailed writing of the discovery of superconductivity, the chronological year-wise development, and the types of superconductors have been presented. In the second part of the book, basic classical and BCS theory with the properties of superconductors is explained. The third part is completely dedicated to a case study work on the YBCO superconductor done by the author's students.
