A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2012 at Agro. Meteorological Research Farm of N.D. University of Agriculture & technology Narendra Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P) as to "Micro-climatic study of pigeon pea [Cajanuscajan (L.) Millap.]genotype under variable weather conditions"The experiment was conducted in Split Plot Design. The treatment consisted 9 combinations comprised of three sowing dates viz., July 06th (D1), July 16th (D2) and July 26th (D3) were kept as main plot treatment and three varieties viz., Narendra Arhar-1 (V1), Narendra Arhar-2 (V2) and Bahar (V3) were kept as sub-plot. Results revealed that sowing on July 06th produced significantly higher growth, yield attributes and yield of pigeonpea due to fulfilment of optimum thermal requirement for various plant processes. High temperature during reproductive stage adversely affected the number of pods/plant, number of seed/pod in late sowing (July 26th) which ultimately resulted in lowest seed yield. Delay in sowing (July 26th) which ultimately resulted in lowest seed yield. sowing on July 16th and 10 days over sowing done on July 06th.
