Over the last three decades, the wireless communication technology is dominating over another technology. In this thesis, basic study of CDMA technique,is elaborated for the purpose of understanding & learning the initial concepts for the undergraduate engineering students and also those who are enthusiastic about CDMA technique. The Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is a digital cellular technology pioneered by QUALCOMM in USA in which signals are encoded using a pseudo-random sequence (PN sequence) - which corresponds to a different communication channels that the receiver also knows and can use to decode the received signal.CDMA provides much better and cost-effective voice quality, privacy, system capacity and flexibility than other wireless technologies, along with enhanced exciting new generation of wireless communications products and services such as short messaging, e-mail and Internet access. In this thesis paper, we include the following articles concerning CDMA technique such as classification, network structure, air interface, codes, voice conversion & call setup, power control, antenna array, handoff & receiver.
