Forest fires have influenced forests since these were first recorded. Forest fires in recent past have taken proportion of a disaster. Accordingly, Disaster Management Continuum as contained in the National Policy on Disaster Management, 2009 has been suggested for strategic management of forest fires. Although book is based on illustrations and examples from India but principles and strategies on forest fire can be used globally.
