Dr. Mihir Kumar Purkait is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Dean of Alumni and External Affairs and ex-Head of Centre for the Environment at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). His current research activities are focused in four distinct areas viz. i) advanced separation technologies, ii) waste to energy, iii) smart materials for various applications and iv) process intensification. In each of the area, his goal is to synthesis stimuli responsive materials and to develop a more fundamental understanding of the factors governing the performance of the chemical and biochemical processes. He has more than 20 years of experience in academics and research and published more than 300 papers in different reputed journals. He has 12 patents and completed 34 sponsored and consultancy projects from various funding agencies. Prof. Purkait has guided 18 Ph.D. students.
Dr. Manish Kumar Sinha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar (PDPU), India. Before joining PDPU, he has received his PhD and M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati after completing his B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, India. His research work is dedicated to synthesis of stimuli responsive material and use these synthesized material for the modification of polymeric membranes. He has also studied on fouling tendency as well as different mitigation techniques to reduce the fouling of polymeric membranes and developed mathematical modeling of fouling. He is also working on water purification using hybrid technique of membrane filtration with electro-coagulation. He has published 11 research papers in international scientific journals like Journal of membrane Science, Desalination, RSC advances etc.
Mr. Piyal Mondal received his undergraduate degree from National Institute of Technology Durgapur in 2012 and Masters degree in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Guwathti, India. He is currently pursuing doctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. His research focuses on green synthesis of metal nanoparticles for real life applications. He has published 5 papers and 2 books, and presented more than 10 papers in national and international conferences.
Dr. Randeep Singh is a researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. His research work is dedicated to the preparation of various membranes and the mathematical analysis of the transport phenomena in membrane separation processes, including wastewater treatment, fruit juice clarification, protein separation, and value-added product separation from biogenic source. He is also working on fabrication of different membrane modules for environmental separation. He has authored two books.
