O autorze

John Carswell is Professorial Research Associate in the Department of the History of Art and Archaeology, SOAS, University of London. He was formerly Curator of the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago and Director of the University's David and Alfred Smart Museum. He later served as Director of the Islamic and South Asian Department at Sotheby's. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, in his early career he worked on archaeological sites in Jericho, Greece and Turkey, before joining the Department of Fine Art at the American University of Beirut. He lives in London and Spain.
