Over the last few decades, the application of atomic absorption spectrophometry in the analysis of complex environmental systems has increased exponentially, but with no significant insights into the quantitative measurements of various ions of metals under investigation. Easy and proper inquiry into the nature of complex systems requires the 'Bottom-up' approach where the various components of such systems are studied in parts. For success of this approach, an azo chromogenic reagent derived from isatin and 4-aminoantipyrine is used for complexation, spectrophotometric determination and extraction studies of some ions of chromium, tin and lead. This book therefore, provides information on the role and efficacy of 4-aminoantipyrine based reagents in coordination chemistry for the complexation, metal ions determination and extraction of Cr(III), Sn(IV) and Pb(IV) in steel, solder and brass. Because of the growing importance of 4-aminoantipyrine based reagents and their metal complexes in coordination chemistry and pharmacology, it is necessary that professionals working in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science and spectroscopy will find the book useful.
