The present book deals with the use of agro by-products in Solid State Fermentation(SSF) processes. Initially, an overview about the generation of these by-products and their chemical composition has been presented. The aim of this book is collect the information regarding to solid-state fermentation and lipase production form these solid wastes. In the sequence, the characteristics of SSF for lipase production systems and variables that affect the product formation by this process are reviewed and discussed. Finally, potential applications of lipase for the obtainment of value added compounds. This book is also incorporated the potential of lipase production by oil cakes available in north India zone and their characterization. This book may be helpful for academician as well as researcher as a reference book in field of fermentation.

Mr. Tripathi has to his credit the award of Junior Research Fellowship granted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of India in 2008,is working in Immunology Division at IITR,Lucknow.
