"Soldier Of A 1,000 Faces" is a small compilation of letters written to combat soldiers who may not otherwise receive mail. The idea was to share these letters among the soldiers so that everyone who wanted, got a letter. The premise is to take a touch of home to men and women who were, perhaps for the first time, far away from home. The job of war is a hard, often unforgiving. To take our heroes away from those hardships momentarily, I tried to remind them what they were protecting, and moreover, how much we appreciated their unselfish efforts, and that their efforts were so much more than just a job. Each letter was written as though an individual were sitting beside me and chatting about the events of my daily life and humorous stories of my past, sometimes embellished for effect, more often than note, not embellished at all. "I caught a fish THIS big " Humor can be a reprieve from all sorts of conditions and perhaps at some unexpected time, be shared and remembered again and again. Moreover, positive strokes deliver pride in ones self, and no matter who you are, everybody needs a warm fuzzy, from time to time. Here's one for today, Letter #---. Laugh with me, beam with me, and for a moment, be next to me where I am safe.
