Hermann Mannheim was an internationally leading criminologist andProfessor at the London School of Economics. He was the first Reader in Criminology in the country and went on to co-found the British Journal of Criminology. He was Chairman of the British Society of Criminology and also heavily involved in penal reform through various committees.
