This research, though small, provide awareness and highlight the views, opinions and feelings of staff working in palliative care and learning disability services. By using focus groups and individual interviews they were able to share their experiences and discuss ways in which both services can work together to improve palliative care for people with learning disabilities. With specialist knowledge, skills and experiences, staff working in both services can provide robust and collaborative working to enhance good quality service for people with learning disabilities who need palliative care.

My interest in Bereavement and Learning Disability began in 1988. As a nurse I provided training in bereavement, organise training sessions and made presentations at various venues. My interest grew to Palliative care for this group and was one of the members of the National Network of Palliative Care for People with Learning Disabilities.
