This book deals with an experiment on semi-mechanised harvesting: factors that influence germination and emergence quality, carried out at the Seed Analysis Laboratory and the Integrated Centre for Mechanisation and Agricultural Projects (NIMPA), belonging to the Federal University of Ceará. The experimental design was completely randomised in a factorial scheme (4 x 2), with four water contents of the achenes (U1 - 21.4%; U2 -17.8%; U3 -14.6% and U4-11.6 %) and two storage locations: Cold chamber (10 °C) and Natural environment (± 27 °C). The most suitable water content for harvesting was 14.6 and 11.6%. Sunflower seeds stored in a cold room performed better when compared to seeds stored in an environment without temperature control.
