Sand production occurs usually in unconsolidated heavy oil reservoirs in China, Canada, Venezuela, Sudan. There is currently a need for a book in this area which explains the mechanism of sand production, the method to calculate the volume of sand produced, and the artificial lift optimization based on considering sand production rate.
