Lippia origanoides Kunth. (Verbenaceae) is a medicinal plant native to Central America and northeastern South America. The species has antimicrobial and antiseptic activity due to the presence of compounds such as thymol and carvacrol in the essential oil extracted from its leaves. The variation in odours released by different individuals of the same species in the same location indicates a chemical variation in the components of the oils. The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical composition of the essential oil and the vegetative development of rosemary-pepper from a population of L. origanoides in the municipality of Buenópolis in the north of the state of Minas Gerais. The results showed that there is divergence in the development and chemical composition of individuals from the same population. This book is intended for researchers and students in the field of agricultural and biological sciences.
