Sono-photodynamic therapy is a safe, non-toxic and non-invasive way of destroying cancer cells, as well as enhancing immune protective function. Both sono-dynamic therapy (ultrasound, pulse or continuous wave mode) and photo-dynamic therapy (infrared laser) have been used for years as separate processes. This book discuss techniques to cure Ehrlich ascites carcinoma tumor implanted to groups of mice as experimental animals using a sono-photodynamic modality in combination with nano-chlorophyll as a sonophoto sensitizer drug. This treatment modality showed a potential for treatment of Ehrlich ascites tumor tissue. It was concluded that nano-chlorophyll played important roles as an anticancer therapy through inhibiting tumor growth and inducing cell death, which might be attributed to photo- and sono-chemical activation mechanism.
