Stress is an inevitable part of our life. We experience stress in every walks of life. Hence it is summarized that modern life is full of stress. There may be several reasons for this but academicians have pointed out that urbanization, industrialization and the increase in the scales of operation always lead to increasing stress level at work places. People feel stresses as they can no longer have complete control over what happens in their life. Work-related stress has been implicated as a major contributing factor to growing job dissatisfaction among doctors. It has been found that job stress impacts not only on doctor s health but also their abilities to cope with job demands. This will seriously impair the provision of quality care and the efficacy of the health service delivery. This study is aimed to identify the factors causing stress among the doctors working in the hospital, the relationship between role stress and role satisfaction and the coping strategies adopted to overcome stress.
