Construction is one of the oldest activities known and since the dawn of mankind it has been executed in a handmade way, generating as a by-product a large amount of mineral rubble. The reuse of construction waste entails cost reduction in various stages of the construction process due to the optimization of the use of raw materials, the agility it gives in the design process or the purchase of components, the increase in productivity and the reduction of waste and losses. Given the many negative impacts caused by the accumulation of waste to the environment, environmentally responsible solutions were sought, adapting to the principle of the 5 R's - Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Reuse and Recycle, as an alternative to mitigate such problems, thus promoting the partial replacement of gypsum by waste ornamental stones in the manufacture of sustainable plaster blocks, analyzing their properties and characteristics.
