In 2 Corinthians 3:6 Paul writes, "He (Jesus) has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. According to the dictionary the phrase "letter of the law" means "the precise wording rather than the spirit or intent." Jesus' came to turn God's people from that letter that kills and return them to the life that abides in the Spirit. Yet, He was considered an "Outlaw" in the eyes of the established church. A small group of individuals that were destined to carry on and spread the truth of the covenant Jesus resurrected. They, too, would be forced to confront the law-driven, organized church and they, too, would become Outlaws. In addition, it discusses reasons and signs of a similar time coming for today's church. And perhaps it will convey an understanding as to why a person may be hearing God beckoning them to become a partaker in the return of the Outlaw Church.
