This recovery-oriented commentary on Proverbs comes from 8 years experience in recovery work and 6 years of recovery ministry. Denny was "forced" into recovery as a result of nearly dying from a subliminal conflict (due to an early parental-abuse situation). After discovery of the repressed early abuse, he and Helen (his wife) began their recovery journey. Helen awakened to the emotional and physical abuse that she had suffered as a child. Neither of them had ever "looked back" to try and understand their various struggles as adults. It never occurred to either of them to do so before recovery. After two years of working their issues they began a recovery ministry at Evangelical Free Church of Huntington Beach, CA. This involved attending Minerth Meier Solutions meetings, a Sunday school class and attendant group sessions. Many insights were garnered during these years and are now being shared in this commentary.
