The Author: Karen F. Stein, Professor of English and Women's Studies at the University of Rhode Island, has served as Chair of the English Department and the Director of the Women's Studies Program at URI. For her work on behalf of women, she was named a Rhode Island Woman of the Year in 2007. She has lectured, taught, and published articles on Margaret Atwood, Toni Morrison, Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich, and other American women writers. She published Margaret Atwood Revisited in 1999.
