This book is compelling as it analyses Ravana, who materialised in post-war southern Sri Lanka as a cultural hero, by locating him in a broader regional and historical framework. It is written in an easy-to-read and engaging style...Henry delivers his work in accessible language. Thus, the work appeals to both researchers who are working on similar topics and laypeople interested in reading the social production of Ravana.
